This year’s gathering is grounded in conversations on Identity: God, I, We. Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches” (John 15:5a). What needs to be pruned from the branches of the church? What fruit will we bear?

We will gather in worship, around tables, over food, and in the beauty of God’s good Creation!

In addition to fun, fellowship, and sabbath, we will delve into the tradition of our faith, interweaving conversations of Scripture and the Great Ends of the Church.

The Great Ends of the Church:*

  • The proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind;
  • The shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God;
  • The maintenance of divine worship;
  • The preservation of the truth;
  • The promotion of social righteousness; and
  • The exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.

Registration is $100 per participant, but do not let cost keep you from attending. There are scholarships available. Please contact Margaret Mitsuyasu if you need assistance. The registration deadline is October 1, 2018.

Funding is heavily subsidized by the Synod for participants during the Gathering, but if you would like to bring your family and/or extend your stay at Silver Bay before or after the event, you are welcome to do so at your own expense. Contact Margaret for more details and to make arrangements.
